"We are big believers at Intel that children everywhere deserve the chance to change the world , and that possibility begins with a strong education.” – Craig Berrett, Intel Chairman
E.J. International, LLC. (“E.J”) is a partnership dedicated to Education. Its founders, F. David Egboro and Victor Efe Jakpor have been boyhood friends since they both lived on Jakpor Road in Sapele, Nigeria.
E.J was founded on July 17, 2008 in Phoenix, Arizona on the principle that education provides survival skills and tools to adapt to the ever complex and dynamic environment of the 21st century. Each child should have the opportunity to maximize his or her potential through education so they can become the agents of change noted in the quote above.
Through its Distance Learning Education Program “DLEP”, E.J believes that the genie of human capital is unleashed through education, as individuals pursue self interests and opportunities within the context of free enterprise, fairness and economic justice for all.
E.J believes education is the great equalizer. It is the staircase to success and increasing opportunities. It should be a lifetime quest. But for many in the developing countries like Nigeria, education has become a distant dream, a fading memory, a pipe dream and a mirage. E.J is on a mission to change that paradigm. We believe that quality education is accessible and should be within the reach of every child in the 21st century. Accessible options include classroom interaction, correspondence, television, the internet and other modalities.
But the preferred and overwhelming method of access, in the face of the burgeoning population of the 21st century is Distance Learning powered by Satellite and the Internet. The use of satellite technology is like putting Distance Learning on steroids. This is the mode of learning for the 21st century because the educational content can be customized for primary and secondary levels and scaled up to accommodate university and technical disciplines as well as adult learning.
In a very true sense, Distance Learning via satellite technology and the internet leverages education for the masses and puts the masses in control of their destinies. It is universal education delivered in the most cost effective platform. It beats the traditional modality of a face to face classroom encounter, which is fast diminishing in light of the current population explosion.
